Neoclassical || Tara Starlet & Gilded Ceilings

IMG_4975

With so much rich history in Chicago, I decided to start trying to take advantage of some of the incredible architecture imbedded in this amazing city.  The Chicago Cultural Center was originally the main Chicago library and was built in 1897!  It also served as a meeting hall for the Grand Army of the Republic and the neoclassical design has Italian Renaissance elements.  With gilded ceilings, stained-glass domes, marble, mosaics, and inscriptions on the walls, I was in awe at how far this Chicago landmark dates back.  For this historical setting, the Tara Starlet Peggy Dress with a vintage stole seemed to be a great combination.  This dress is such an incredible staple piece.  It's classic figure-flattering shape, simplicity, and high quality fabric creates a perfect blank canvas to build so many different looks with.  It's classy for daytime paired with a knit cardigan , and sexy for evening paired with a stole and updo like I styled today's shoot.

  1. What an amazing location and an equally amazing outfit. Love the pairing of the slim dress with the stole.
May I ask you how you hide the lacing in the back when you wear the corset underneath a dress? Doesn't it, or at least the knot in the middle, show?
