Do you ever feel nostalgic for a time you never lived? Chicago rings of such nostalgic eras, where art and aesthetic were poured into every intricate detail of architecture and embraced for centuries. I think of a time when artisans were delving into their arts - shoemakers, tailors, painters, musicians, and such skill was highly embraced. I can picture a world of stylish suits & fitted dresses dashing to boats, beautiful cars, and trains...
Starlet Fever is an Australian brand that brings us back to these days, with classic daywear and stunning 50's evening frocks. Scarves & brooches are some of my go-to accessories so I was overjoyed to find stunning selections of both by Starlet Fever. Not only do they carry such classic adornments, but their brooches are all real vintage treasures... each unique and non-commercial. As Autumn is drawing near, I'm excited to share inspiration for cooler-weather chic daywear.
Tucked right next to historic Grant Park is the location of the great Illinois Central Railroad, established in 1851! Today it is still operating as you can see, as a train commuter "Metra" which always leaves me again in daydreams of vintage Chicago. It only felt appropriate to stay true to this inspiration for today's 1940's/1950's Fall-inspired look with Starlet Fever, featuring the stunning fitted Eleanor Dress. I paired it with gorgeous Starlet Scarf in 'rose' and Aurora Borealis crystal brooch. Hat box is by Milli Star who's bespoke masterpiece will be highlighted in a recap of my day at the races, coming up next...
