Happy Birthday Marilyn || Marilyn Eyewear at Sutton Place

In honor of today's birth date of an icon, I took my Marilyn Eyewear sunglasses on a nostalgic trip, back in time.  Marilyn Monroe's former Sutton Place penthouse, which she had until she passed, was here at this very address.  Apparently currently on the market for $6.75 million, it was this very location where Miller was writing "The Misfits."  From here she and Miller had a spectacular view of the 59th street bridge, which we enjoyed just a few blocks away.

I love images of Marilyn in classic New York City, especially with her chic head scarves & dark glasses.  Today's tribute combines inspiration from various looks, and highlights "Elsie" floral tortoise directional rectangle sunglasses.  These beauties have rose gold Swarovski pavé crystal cat-eye corners, and like all of their designs, Marilyn's own signature etched on the lens.

The last location in today's journey, was the famous grate from The Seven Year Itch!  There happened to be a farmer's market during our visit, but I'll be back to document this little unassuming piece of history!  For now, enjoy a little glimpse back at a special place in time, when the biggest sex symbol of hollywood graced these streets.

  1. That dress is absolutely stunning on you! I have 1 VoH dress that I adore, the cut of their pieces is just so flattering. X
